Useful first, persuasive second
Most excursion sites are written to close a sale. This one is written to help you decide, which sometimes means telling you a day will not suit you.
So we explain the stairs at Preveli before the palm trees, we say when a route is shaded and when it is not, and where our own sources disagree on a number, we say that too rather than publishing the more convenient figure.
Every day is private
The vehicle and the day are yours. No other parties join, and the pace, the stops and the length of the swim are yours to set on the day.
Nothing is charged before it is confirmed
Prices, durations and entrance fees are confirmed against your actual dates and sent to you in writing. That is why you will not find a price table on this site.
Booking goes to the operator
Excursions and transfers are run by Intertrip Tours, a related business. We say so on every page where the hand-off happens.

Getting here, and getting across the island
Rethymno has no airport of its own. Everyone arrives through Heraklion or Chania, or by ferry, and then has a drive along the north coast.

Heraklion is the busier of the two Cretan airports and the one most Rethymno arrivals land at.

Things to do in Rethymno
Walk the old town early and the Fortezza late, swim outside the middle of the day, and use Rethymno’s position to reach both coasts — the south coast beaches and gorges, the mountain villages inland, and Chania or Knossos east and west. The town itself takes a day; the region takes a week.
