Souda ferry port, Chania to Rethymno town and the surrounding coast.
Chania’s ferry port is at Souda, a few kilometres east of the town and on the right side for Rethymno. Like Heraklion, the Piraeus sailing arrives early, and the same logic applies: better to be met than to work it out on the quay at dawn.

Souda is the convenient side
Souda sits east of Chania, which means the drive to Rethymno does not involve crossing the town. For anyone arriving by ferry and staying in Rethymno, it is the more straightforward of the two ports.
The arrival hour is the same early one, so the same planning applies — agree in advance what happens between the quay and check-in.

Questions people actually ask
Where is the ferry port for Chania?
Ferries serving Chania dock at Souda, a few kilometres east of the town. For Rethymno that is the convenient side, because the drive does not need to pass through Chania itself.
How early do we need to be ready for a departure sailing?
That depends on your operator and whether you are taking a vehicle. We will agree a pickup time against your specific sailing when you book rather than applying a general rule.
